Kimzi- A journey from a babyhood to childhood !!

Happy Birthday Darling !!!

It was a lovely Birthday party with family and friends around. You were so happy to sing a Birthday song for yourself. You enjoyed decorating the room so much with your Dad. You were jumping up and down the tables, kissing and hugging us every moment. May be, you were thanking us this way, and when everyone arrived you had gone crazy showing everyone your Happy Birthday dress and Happy Birthday shoes and Happy Birthday hair do !!! You loved the Pooh cake so much. Pooh made you taste the icing of the cake which you never ever do. Birthday presents excited you so much. We opened it next day when you were very fresh to enjoy them.

Time flies so fast, I am chronicling your memories to sit back and remember them together. I remember your first days of life like they were yesterday. You feel so new to us, yet it also feels like you have been a part of our lives forever. Life without you is a rapidly fading memory.

Your journey from a baby to toddler has been amazingly good. You have been learning something new everyday. You have become so interactive in your dealings with us. You have outgrown from a bassinet, to a crib and now you are comfortable in your cot. I get a little teary-eyed thinking about these changes. This is the next stage. My little girl is growing up and in the blink of an eye, my little baby has entered into an early childhood phase. Now I truly understand what parents mean when they say, “It goes so fast".

Wasn’t it just yesterday you were learning how to walk? And talk? Now you’re running! You definitely keep mommy on her toes! Mommy is most of the time screaming, shouting but then cuddle you so much to make you feel that we are always there for you.

Every day I am amazed with your new words. How your language has exploded. I love you saying..icha mama(Wricha Mama), ohti papa( Rohit Papa), mama wer kima dui (mama where's kima shoes)...and there are so many words I wanna record before they are lost in time.

You love to play with dolls and that makes me relive my childhood with you. Water makes you crazy and that has made everyone call you a "Jalpari"(Mermaid).

Every night after dinner you remind me to brush your teeth. I love your hugs and snuggles before bedtime. You like to sleep with your sleeping baby, you hold her so tight and sing a "Hush little baby" rhyme for her. Though, you start it by saying hush baby hush baby and then I give it a tune.

You can count upto 6 and you recognize A, B, C. You like to sing "Baba Black Sheep", "Humpty Dumpty" , "Do Re Mi" and "Lakdi ki kathi". You love to dance on "Junoon" (Your mum's fav John Abraham's Song) and Lakdi ki kathi..I love your footworks and mudras you make with your tiny hands.

I wish I could capture each and every moment via video, photos, and journaling. My precious baby girl…you are growing up and while it all seems so sudden, I know you can’t stay a baby forever.

Love you always,
Mommy !!!

Daddy - My Idol

Papa, you have always been my role model. An intelligent man as well as a hard working person. No matter what mistakes we have made in life you have always been there to help us and correct our wrongs. You have given us the ability to strive for the best and aspired us to have a positive outlook in life. When times got rough you and mum handled it carefully with strength without letting us know about it. And today, when we find us succeeded in life we aim for the highest to make you happy. It is all because of your initiative and continuous encouragement. On top of that, your own achievements always beckon us to do better. You have got such a great heart, that you continue to do so. You know it best "How to give"
Your mere presence gives us confidence, your being there gives us strength to believe in ourself.
It is true that we choose our mates unconsciously because they are like our parents, I feel so proud that Rohit shares the character traits with you Papa, two of you have a lot in common, including the opinions and a fantastic sense of direction. I knew I wanted to marry someone who would be as good to me as you have been with Mom.

Everything Mom

Mommy, you are always there in everything I do, you are in my dreams, in my thoughts, in my work and even in my child's face. You have been my best friend always. If I'm stressed out about something, I can just call you, and you are like, "Kya hua?" and you just sit and really listen to me. I love the positive attitude you hold and it's a pride to see that no situation can faze you. Your famous liners are tied with me always, "when one door closes another one opens, every cloud has a silver lining and you always assure us that no situation is bad as it seems so look before you leap"..
We've had a lot of fun times together and you have totally helped me through some really rough spots too.
Oh! I totally forgot to mention one of the biggest reasons why you are the greatest mom in the whole universe. You let me borrow your stuff so easily, we're the same shoe size :) and yes, the dresses and woollens you knit for me and Kimaya really make us feel proud..best of all are the woollen shrugs and Crocheted Shawls. I wish I had taken my summer vaccation lessons seriously from you to become as creative as you are. I know Kimaya would curse me for that when she grows up :(

Mum, you are so gentle yet so strong
The many ways you show you care
Always make me feel I belong.
You're the master of every task
You have an answer for everything I ask!
How do you find the energy,
To do all the things,
To be a teacher, a nurse, a counselor
a cook, a friend and a playmate.
I see now it is love,
That makes you come whenever I'd call,
That makes you so special of all.
I often gaze my childhood,
As I am a mother now, and so I know
Hard work is mixed together with the fun.
Every day, I try my best to be
A mother like the mom you were to me.

Time To Fly

I remember,
You came to me on a sunny day of May,
You were so precious to hold in my arms to stay.
You are growing bigger every day,
I know I must let you walk away.
Down in my heart from here to the sky,
You are taking steps with wings to fly.
Do you know how much you mean to me?
As you grow into what you will be.
I know sometimes to you I seem harsh and so unfair,
But one day you will see, I taught you well because I care.
I am so proud of all that you are.
You will always be my shining star.
Soon, your first day of Kindergarten would be here,
And we are excited that is perfectly clear.
Mommy will walk with you and kiss you goodbye.
Spread your wings precious girl it’s time to fly.
