Red Letter days

I can remember vividly the first time I saw my husband. It was at college in Loni. He was walking along the hallway between buildings heading towards the pit..I looked up just as he was passing, he seemed to be followed by a light and I just knew that this was the man I was going to marry...that's a filmy story isn't it...but true at times.
We never really talked and I never thought of him as a romantic interest then.
We had mutual friends in the same college, same class and we had every lesson together and were friends for almost a year before getting together!
Just a year later in Nov' 96 we got officially engaged..and after 4 yrs in June 2000 we got married. We lived in London for couple of years and got back to our family in India in 2004.
After 8 years of being married, in 2008 we were blessed with a lovely daughter, Kimaya. We are very excited about becoming a family, although also happy that we have spent a great deal of time enjoying life as a married couple, before jumping into the new challenges and rewards of parenthood.

Can I live my childhood again???

In this world, I was born as a stranger
With mum and dad, I was never in danger
Holding my finger they taught me to walk
With their support I climbed high rocks
They taught me,life is like fountains
Sprinkle little and touch high mountains
Papa taught me to walk in crowd
His teachings made me always proud
He gave me lessons on life to tackle
With his teaching I would never crackle
When I am sad at times
I remember my mum's lovely rhymes
It has been such a long
But I never forget her lovely songs
Mum and dad are like a magic stick
Roll it once and fulfil your wish
In my life my heart never cried
It happened once when I was bride
I was sad to leave them behind
I Wished for the life to rewind
For a girl there are two ways
One leads to her golden days
And other takes her to would be days
If you ask me to make a wish again

My Childhood

Childhood memories, I remember it like yesterday. They are special to everyone. I have a very happy memory of my childhood and always reminisce it with nostalgia. I was born and brought up in a small family which included my father, mother and elder brother. I fondly remember we brother and sister playing in our backyard in hot summer afternoons, cycling, going to beaches and parks and enjoying life in a very general way. My father is a civil engr he served under SAIL and my mother a home maker. Of all the memories, one particular memory is very important and taught me the importance of relations in life. I would try to impress upon my child the same values.
Everytime I eat mango it takes me back to those childhood days the summer vacations which we used to spend at our village, Sunderchak. We would pluck mangoes and put it in the bucket filled with cold water and count down the agonizing hours until it was cold enough to eat.My parents have served the best to us always. Throughout my life, I have been lucky enough to have such lovely parents. They supported me, given criticisms and taught me great deal about how to live my life. Parents are the most important teachers in our lives. For me, my mother is the best teacher for me and a very good friend to me. She is a calm and quite lady, and never showed how much she prayed for her family and what sacrifices she made for us. My parents have played alot with us. Sundays were the best day in the week as either we used to go on picnics with friends or movies or playing Ludos and Chinese chekkers at home. My mother and I used to sing together for hours and hours. There is a long list of our favourite songs she sang for us and the lullabies, which now I sing for my daughter. My parents inspire me in every work I do.
Writing all about the lovely childhood days is really toughest task because you just dont feel like missing any moment which is in your mind...I would end up by saying that childhood memories are the fondest of all.
